Brigade Group launches Customer Portal- a first by a Bangalore Developer

Bangalore,20th November 2014: Brigade Group announced the roll-out of its Customer Portal that allows its residential buyers to access details of the home they purchased. With the portal, a first by a Bangalore-based developer, customers of Brigade Group will be able to:

1.             Access their statement of accounts – dues, overdues, payment status and tracking of payments

2.             Access and upload their property-related documents

3.             Option to view  property papers and guidelines

4.             View status of construction of the property

5.             Raise queries online and track status of those

6.             View and edit profile information of the applicants

7.             Refer their friends and family to Brigade properties and track status

8.             Fill customer satisfaction surveys at various stages of project progress

9.             Keep abreast with news and events at Brigade Group

The portal has been rolled out to customers of one of its flagship projects, Brigade Exotica and will be gradually rolled out to customers of its other under-construction projects in the next couple of months.

Mr. Jaishankar, Chairman & Managing Director of Brigade Group said, “One of the biggest challenges home buyers face today is checking status updates of their home, keeping track of payments and getting responses from the developer on their queries. Esperienza 2014 – A study on Italian Design & Architecture Exhibition


DQ labs is showcasing an exhibition “Esperienza 2014” on the 22ndand 23rd of November at Alliance Francaise. A Study tour by a team of 15 budding architects from India explored the cities of Rome, Vatican,Florence, Milan and Venice to observe and learn the different facets of Italian Design and Architecture. This study was a voluntary – non-profit collaboration between Indian and Italian Architects and was organised by DQ Labs. This team of student architects will share their learning through photographs, and audio visual media at the exhibition. Esperienza 2014 is an eccentric concoction of perspectives from students studying architecture as well as Indian and international designers and architects. This is a great opportunity for high school and pre-university students to interact with such forerunners in architecture and explore their career prospects in architecture. It also promises an exceptional experience for architecture and design enthusiasts to discover more vistas.

In collaboration with DQ Labs, the team has identified unique design elements present in those environments and the impact they bring about in the daily life of people.Esperienza 2014 has helped them identify the underlying culture, politics, technology, geography & sounds of Italy reflected in architectural structures, urban and industrial design elements. Inspired by this, the team will propose a brand new design element adapted to the Indian context to make the lives of Indians simple and efficient.

The other highlights of Esperienza 2014 include exhibits of visits to various exhibitions, museums and buildings of architectural significance like the 14th La Biennale Architecture exposition at Venice with representation from over 60 countries, the Fiera di Milano by Ar. Massimiliano Fuksas & MAXXI Museum by Zaha Hadid, and the First Indian Delegation to visit the new Opera di Firenze, the location of Italy’s Maggio Musicale Festival conducted by Mr. Zubin Mehta. It would also include an interaction with Award winning architects, and council of Architects & Architecture Faculty from Architecture Schools.

Esperienza 2014 will also petition for India’s representation at the 15th La Biennale International Architecture exposition which takes place at Venice and is one of the most globally significant architectural events. Despite having outstanding architectural heritage and brilliant talent, India has never participated in the event so far, and it is against this backdrop that DQ Labs is initiating an effort to get India’s participation to showcase its architectural visions and representations during the next La Biennale exhibition.

Syndicate Bank launches “SyndKuteer”, Housing Loan Scheme for Economically Weaker Section ( EWS) and Low Income Group ( LIG) Beneficiaries


Nationalized SyndicateBank has launched an unique Housing Loan scheme “SyndKuteer” for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG) beneficiaries to commemorate the Foundation Day of the Bank.

The scheme aims to cater to the Housing needs of EWS and LIG beneficiaries, whose annual income does not exceed Rs 2.00 Lakh per annum. While EWS beneficiaries get Housing Loans up to Rs 5.00 Lakh, LIG beneficiaries get Housing Loans up to Rs 10.00 Lakh.

The loan is sanctioned at Base Rate (Presently 10.25%) and no surety is required. Processing, Documentation and Mortgage charges are fully waived and legal charges will be borne by the Bank. The loan can be repaid in a maximum period of 30 years. Under the scheme, the house shall mandatorily have provision for toilet and the Bank will also extended loan for installation of Solar Lightings, besides providing financial assistance to the household to take up economic activities to augment family income. The beneficiaries will be given free training, if required from SIRD or RUDSETI for skill development.

Brigade Enterprises Ltd sees 191% growth in Q2 of FY 2014-15


Bangalore, November 5, 2014: Bangalore-based real estate major Brigade Enterprises Ltd’s net profit for the second quarter of the financial year 2014-15 has shown a 191% growth to Rs 215 million, up from Rs 74 million recorded during the immediately preceding quarter  of the current  fiscal. The Board of Directors of Brigade Enterprises Ltd. met on November 4thand approved the financial results for  Q2 FY 2014-15.

Commenting on the company’s performance, Mr. M.R. Jaishankar, Chairman and Managing Director, Brigade Enterprises Limited,said that a combination of sales from ongoing projects and new projects that have come for revenue recognition in this quarter contributed to the growth in revenues in the residential segment. “A stable government at the centre and improving business environment has revived the consumer sentiment in the country. We are pleased to report significant growth during this Quarter. Q2 has been very good for Brigade Enterprises Limited and the company is well positioned to leverage its performance with planned launches of about 6 mn sq.ft within the next 2 quarters.”

For the second quarter ended September 30, 2014, the company recorded total revenues of Rs 3,292 million, up about 100% from the previous Quarter.

Further, Unrecognized Revenue on sold units in the Ongoing Real Estate projects stood at Rs. 17,677 million, which will get reflected in the coming quarters.

Robust residential sales

Q2 FY 2014-15 witnessed robust sales. Real Estate Space aggregating to about 0.8 million sq. ft., valued at Rs. 4,087 million was sold during the second quarter ended 30th September, 2014. The Annual Brigade Showcase event , where customers got to choose from a wide array of projects including ready-to-occupy homes, those nearing completion, ongoing and the ones that have just been launched was very successful. These projects included value homes, luxury apartments, premium residential enclaves, retirement homes and villas.

Significant Developments during the quarter

Ø      Brigade Orchards – Cedar & Deodar, with aggregate area of 1.5 mn sq. ft. and Holiday Inn Express Hotel with 0.2 mn sq. ft were launched.

Ø      CRISIL has assigned a Long Term Debt Rating of “A” for the company which is amongst the highest in the industry

 Ø      CRISIL Independent Equity Research has assigned Brigade Group a fundamental grade of 4 out of 5 and valuation grade of 5 out of 5

Ø      ICRA Equity Research has assigned Brigade Group a fundamental grade of 4 out of 5 and valuation grade of “A”

Ø      Brigade Group and GIC- through its affiliate company (Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund), entered in to an MoU , to jointly invest up to Rs. 1,500 crores in residential and mixed-use developments in select cities of South India. The Joint Venture aims to acquire land for residential and mixed-use developments.

Ø      Brigade Group will be launching 1.1 million. sq. ft. of Commercial, Residential, Retailand Hotel projects in GIFT City, Gujarat in the near future.

  • Lease Rental and Hospitality segments contributed Rs. 434 million  and Rs. 284 million respectively to the revenues for the second  quarter ended 30th September, 2014.
  • Debt equity Ratio of the Company was at 0.68 : 1.  Over 50% of the debt is towards Office, Retail and Hospitality assets which are income yielding assets to service their debts.
  • Launched 1.05 million sq. ft of Residential space in Bangalore during the second quarter ended 30th September, 2014.
  • Launched 0.17 million sq. ft of Hospitality space in Bangalore during the second quarter ended 30th September, 2014.
  • Plan to Launch about 6 million sq. ft. during Q3 and Q4 of FY 2014-15 across all segments.

A book authored by Ar.Gita Balakrishnan, founder of Ethos and Ankon Mitra who was the first champion of Archumen in 2003, aptly titledArchumen:Questioning Architecture was launched on this occasion. The book thematically brings together and probes deeper into some of the questions asked over the years, raising many issues and urging the reader to think and make choices. Ethos, founded by Gita Balakrishnan – a Kolkata-based architect, is an organisation that has been building awareness on our built environment among the students of architecture and civil engineering from colleges all over India. The event was well attended by many students and architecture professionals and made the event very interesting with so much support from the audience.
