The All-New Sporty Hatchback BOLT from Tata Motors

Bangalore, January, 2015: Tata Motors announced the commercial launch of its much-awaited sporty hatchback, the all-new Bolt. Manufactured at the Pimpri plant in Pune, Bolt is the latest car from the company, under its Horizonext umbrella and offers many segment-defining features for Design, Drivability and Connectivity.

The Bolt is launched at a starting price of INR 4.50 Lakhs, ex-showroom, Bangalore, for the Revotron (petrol) 1.2T and starts at INR 5.59 Lakhs, ex-showroom, Bangalore, for the diesel variant. The car will be available for sale, across the country in over 450 Tata Motors sales outlets now.

Bangalore, January 30, 2015:  Bangalore based real estate major Brigade Group has made meaningful contributions towards community building over the years and the latest contribution is that of installing an iconic bronze statue of the ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi, today at the Brigade Gateway campus.

The statue of Mahatma Gandhi was unveiled by Shri. Gopalkrishna Gandhi the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and Governor of West Bengal from 2004 to 2009. Padma Vibhushan Dr. K Kasturirangan and M.R. Jaishankar, CMD of Brigade Group presided over the occasion.

Shri. Gopalkrishna Gandhi the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and Governor of West Bengal​ , said, “​Mahatma Gandhi said no violence no hatred. People have to remember him as a man of courage. Today we see sectarian hatred among us.  To save others life Gandhiji gave his life.Terrorism is not against any religion, its against humanity.Gandhiji always stood with the weak and gave them assurance.  This is secularism.Gandhi belongs to a place where he is believed. He is believed here today.

 The statue of Mahatma Gandhi has been specially sculpted for Brigade Group.

  1.  The statue was sculpted by renowned sculptor Manayya N Badiger of Kalaburagi with the assistance of 6 young sculptors and a team of 25 artisans.
  1. It took one year to create the statue.
  2. It is made of an alloy comprising Brass and Copper and weighs 1000 kg
  3. It is a 11 ft statue on a 6 ft high granite pedestal and stands 17 ft tall.​spanning a total developed area of over 20 million sq.ft, Brigade has an ambitious target of completing 30 million sq.ft in the next 5 years.

 Bangalore 20th January, 2015: Value Budget Housing Corporation (VBHC) the pioneers of affordable housing segment in the country today announced their entry into the ‘senior living’ housing segment in association with Vedaanta Senior Living.

VBHC in partnership with Vedaanta Senior Living launched its first ever senior living project at its existing project Vaibhava in Anekal near Electronic City, Bangalore. B.PAC appraises Hon’ble Chief Minister the need for reforms in power sector across Karnataka and Bangalore in particular, by restructuring the sector through private participation

Bangalore, January 14, 2015: The Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) presents a letter to Hon’ble Chief Minister today urging immediate and urgent intervention in initiating reforms in power sector to transform the state of Karnataka and deliver 24/7 uninterrupted high quality power.

A 5 point recommendation was included in the letter which will benefit Karnataka state and Bangalore in particular in getting get 24/7 high quality power supply.

The letter highlighted the following recommendations:

  1. All ESCOMs in the state to be reformed under PPP mode, as has been done in other metros like Delhi.
  2. More private players to be roped in to set up many more generating plants to match the projected power demand.
  3. Divestment of KPCL to be initiated, listing the entity in stock exchange to generate required capital for its expansion.
  4. KPTCL to be made more efficient by entering into strategic partnerships with NTPC or PGCIL or other proficient and resourceful entities in the field.
  5. As an independent regulator, KERC which is already in place, is taking care of the public interest. The state should limit its involvement only to extending subsidies wherever such social obligations are deemed necessary. The State should not run, manage and govern ESCOMS or KPCL or KPTCL directly as it has singularly failed to deliver in the last 30 years.

By acting so, the government and the public will be benefitted from the following:

  1. People of Karnataka, irrespective of urban or rural population, will get 24/7 high quality power supply. This will reverse the situation of power cuts for the last 30 years and thus will enhance the quality of people’s life.
  1. Electricity tariff will become more competitive and more transparent to the consumers.
  2. Government will be relieved from the obligations of making huge investment of approx. Rs. 90,000 Crs in inefficient public entities in next 10 years.
  3. State role in power sector will be limited to extending subsidies to underprivileged, as socially and politically necessitated.
  4. The looming huge demand for investment in power sector could be diverted to other development projects and social welfare schemes.

After meeting Hon’ble Chief Minister, Dr. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, President Said “We presented the data and facts on the current state of affairs in state power generation & distribution with suggested reforms which will make Karnataka a power surplus state. Hon’ble Chief Minster was positive in his response and agreed to look in to the suggestions”.

Mr. T.V.Mohandas Pai, Vice President, B.PAC who also joined the meeting said “Huge subsidies extended to various sections also have shown negative results leading to higher power thefts.  It is obvious that Karnataka suffers from very high power theft. While share of agriculture in GDP is 15 %, power consumption in the agricultural sector is 37%! Karnataka ranks one of the highest in terms of power consumption in agriculture when compared to other states with similar agriculture share in GDP. In Karnataka, power theft is being loaded on the Agricultural Sector and honest tax paying citizens are being penalised by high tariffs because of the State’s inability to reduce power theft”

The letter also highlights the immediate need for reducing the ATC losses, improving the PFL of generating plants, checking 37% of unmetered power accounted against subsidised IP sets and reviewing the future investment plans in power sector.
