Marble, Marble On The Wall

KalingaStone Launches ‘Terra’ For Walls

Mumbai, September 2016: India’s leading brand for engineered stones, KalingaStone has announced the launch of its latest marble product – Terra under its existing Petra series. Manufactured by Classic Marble Company (CMC), the product is aimed at aspirational décor for both residence and commercial spaces and has been developed especially to quench the present limitations in wall cladding applications. The application areas can range from interior wall cladding for living rooms, kitchens, or other areas including bathroom walls to covering huge exterior walls.

The marble, quite aptly named Terra, has an earthy appearance, however is smooth in texture and seamless in installation. A uniform grainy surface pattern throughout its surface form a subtle wall background for any articulated landscape, antiques or furniture to stand out.

Terra, as wall cladding renders a contemporary European appeal to the space with minimalistic styling, leaving much to be played by accessorizing. Depending on the taste of the occupant and the utility, the walls could adorn a host of relics to add a rustic aura to the space. Whether hung with a vintage photo frame or an antique wooden casket pushed up the wall or even a simple brass wall clock could act as the ingredient that adds flavour to the room.

Being an engineered marble, Terra does not break or chip easily and is scratch resistant.  Its smooth texture is easy to clean thus making it apt for exterior and bathroom spaces too. Inspired by its Italian lineage the marble has a look and feel that is almost as rich and real as natural marble and is available in standard dimensions of 304 X 125 cm and thicknesses of 12 mm, 16mm and 18 mm. The large format of the stone allows designer professionals to create unique artistic combinations of small and big stones and trendy geometrical designs. Beautiful carvings or unique finishing on a marble wall in the living room can put art itself into perspective.

CREDAI Pledges its Members’ support for Sugamya Bharat Abhiyaan

September 19, 2016:  CREDAI, in line with their commitment towards making real estate sector more citizen centric, have taken up the call of Sugamya Bharat Abhiyaan. Announced by the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sugamya Bharat Abhiyaan or Accessible India Program is a nationwide flagship campaign for achieving universal accessibility for people with disabilities and to create an enabling and barrier free environment, with a focus on three verticals: Built Environment; Public Transportation and Information and Communication Technologies.

The Pledge, signed by Mr. Irfan Razack – Chairman, Mr. Getamber Anand – President and Mr. Jaxay Shah – President Elect of CREDAI commits its 11,500 members nationally to the guidelines under CREDAI Pledge for Accessible Buildings.

Inspired by the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi for Sugamya Bharat, members of CREDAI hereby undertake the pledge on the Seventeenth Day of September, 2016 that we shall in all our developments, projects and buildings conform to ensuring accessibility to all and that we shall be guided by the standards under Accessible India Programme in all our conduct.

Under this pledge, CREDAI members would incorporate more accessibility features in their projects. The developers are also expected to ensure that all their existing projects are accessible to differently abled individuals and remove any and all hindrances they may face in accessing or residing there.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Getamber Anand said, “CREDAI is happy to associate all its 11,500 members with the Prime minister’s initiative for an accessible and included India. All our 11,500 members have come forward to sign the pledge to take into account the needs of each and every consumer. Where most developed nations have taken up the initiative with gusto and made accessibility mandatory by law, India still lags behind in providing access to a considerable segment of its population. This, especially in the light of the Paralympics where Indian athletes are showcasing exemplary performances. We have decided to get up and take notice of this serious deficiency. We feel that by designing and constructing accessible buildings, CREDAI members would come closer to its consumers”

Mr. Irfan Razack added, “CREDAI expects the sector to move ahead with the times and this pledge is a step in that direction. We want to ensure that our consumers don’t face any difficulty in something as basic as accessing the very homes they reside in. Basic amenities such as Braille compatible lifts, Wheelchair ramps and hearing impaired infrastructure is something people in the West take for granted. Where we are slowly pushing for urbanisation and modernisation we have to also ensure that we are taking every citizen along the path of growth. We believe that the pledge will set the momentum for all real – estate community to work towards this initiative.
